What is the cost of studying in Dubai?

Dubai is, undoubtedly, the next big destination for international students to study and explore career options. Similarly, the average fee for a Post-graduate program is between 50,000 AED to 85,000 AED, i.e. approximately Rs. 8 lakh to Rs. 13 lakh per annum.

Living in Dubai can be slightly more expensive than the Asian study destinations but then again, the cost of living depends on every individual and their way of life. As per our estimation, the cost of living in Dubai ranges from AED 5,500 - 16,000  (₹ 99,000 - 2.9 lakh) per month. 

For accommodation, students can either opt to stay on-campus or off-campus in rented apartments. Sharing apartments can bring down the cost drastically and people generally opt on-campus stay. Which examinations/tests are required to apply and study in Dubai?

To study in Dubai, international students usually do not need to appear for English-proficiency tests like IELTS, PTE or TOEFL. That is one of the advantages of studying in Dubai. Unlike the universities in the UK, the USA, Australia or any other, students are not required to prove their English proficiency and that makes the application process a bit more accessible. Certificates from any English medium school is enough to apply to the universities and colleges and based on their academic merit and other similar eligibility criteria, they can easily study over there and excel.

What about scholarships to study in Dubai?

Universities and colleges in Dubai do offer scholarships from time to time and it is indeed very helpful for students to pursue their studies there. But these scholarships are largely offered by the institutions and since they are not offered often, the competition to obtain them is very high.

Visa to study in Dubai

Naturally, to study in Dubai, international students will need to obtain a student visa. The process of applying for a Dubai student visa is quite simple as most of the things are taken care of by the institutions. These institutions have the authority to apply for the visa on behalf of the students and usually, the visa process takes around 20-25 working days. 

To apply for the visa, students are required to pay 3,000 AED and students must be in possession of all academic records and provide them as and when required. The bank records of the applicant are also required and they must have at least 30,000 AED during the application process.
